THE ALLIANCE DE ONCIDIUM AND ODONTOGLOSSUM ("CAMBRIAS") - (BRASSIA, MILTONIA, MILTONIOPSIS, ONDONTOGLOSSUM,ONCIUM AND HIGHER SEUS)
Origin - Forests of varying altitudes in South America. It is in this family where the commercially denominated hybrids of CAMBRIAS are inserted.
Luminosity - They like half-shadow light from good light, but always without direct sun.
Temperature and Humidity - Ideal temperatures between 16 and 28 °C for most species. Both the Odontoglossum and the Miltoniopsis do not adapt well to temperatures exceeding 27-28°C and if they are grown at very high temperatures, they cease to flower and eventually die. They should also be kept at cooler temperatures during the night.
Miltoniopsis support minimum temperature of 15oC and Odontoglossum can reach 0oC on colder nights. This family likes enough humidity combined with good air circulation.
Pots and substrate - Pots small clay or plastic can also be mounted. If planted in a vase, the indicated substrate is the Terra Orquídeas Epífitas.
Watering and Fertilization - Waterings should be weekly and fifteenth fertilization, we use Nutri Orquídeas Humic Crescimento after the cutting of the floral stems, and Nutri Orquídeas Humic Floração when the floral buds begin to appear.
We should apply the whole year the biostimulant Vital Orquídeas Activ fortnightly, it can be applied in the same watering that the fertilizers (respecting the doses of both to 1 liter of water) or separately (alternate 1 week add another fortifying).
